Wallet is now Vault, plus send to any address

Just in time for the festive season bull market, today's release is the precursor to Integration Season proper, and we're pumped.

Over the next few updates, we'll be moving things around in the app and under the hood, and adding integrations to make the Infinex app genuinely useful for your day to day crypto adventures. So please bear with us if you see some rough edges here and there, and rest assured that as we renovate, the security of your Infinex Account remains our highest priority.

One more really important point upfront – nothing about where or how your assets are stored in Infinex has changed with this update. The changes described below are purely cosmetic.

    Wallet is now called Vault

In hindsight, we should've called it Vault from the start.

The set of smart contracts and programs that store and secure the funds in your Infinex Account are optimised for security, transparency, and onchain funds recovery that doesn't require the Infinex platform. You have several of them, and they are not really chain abstracted (nor should they be, but that's another post).

From a practical user experience point of view, they are closer to a set of Gnosis Safes, than a daily driver Phantom wallet. So we're updating the name to match the experience, and also making room to re-introduce a wallet in the next update.

Along with the name change, we've also updated the Vault user interface so that your assets are now grouped by the network they are on, instead of the other way around, making it more obvious what lives where, and making depositing and sending actions clearer. This update also lays the groundwork for upcoming Vault-specific features.

Finally, please note that the original Bridge and Swap features have been deprecated, ahead of the release of new and improved cross-chain swaps functionality. Look out for that with the next update.

Send tokens to any address, securely

You can now send from your Infinex Vault to any wallet address.

With the ability to send assets, we've also added new security features and safeguards including email verification and 2FA via an authenticator app, to ensure that only you can send funds from your account.

Keep an eye out for improvements to the send feature in coming weeks, including an address book.

Please note, you may need to update your Infinex Account before using these new features.
